What Does Presence Of Mucus In Throat Indicate?

it s about this mucus in my throat like these other people. Had it for 6mths now but have been tired lately so my immune system could be down. I also work with Seniors and catch everything. I am 67 soon so I guess i need to rest.. Is it why I get sick too much or each 4mths..I had CFS like 24yrs ago and maybe it is affecting my health more or immune system...This is very tireing and annoying...Any comments..I do the prescribed nose spray and salt and H2O each morning...Will it leave when I retire. Thanks Anne

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Mucus in throat could be from chronic pharyngitis or chronic bronchitis like inflammation condition..

Your work up done as follow...
-Auscultation
-Chest x ray
-Spirometry if needed
-PNS x ray if needed
-CBC

If bacterial infection present than antibiotic course prescribed

Avoid excess spicy and fried foods

One tsp ginger juice with one tsp honey beneficial

Drink more water

If cough more than Ambroxol syrup given

If eosinophils are high than Allegra like drug prescribed

Take care

Consult physician or pulmonologoist for examination and further work up with keeping this in mind
