What Does Pink Vaginal Discharge Indicate?

I am a 58 yo woman who has gone thru menopause. My last period was about 2 years ago, however, the last few weeks I have noticed that after i pe, when i wipe myself, there is a slight pink tinge on the paper. I have not noticed any blood in my urine or in the toilet...what could be causing this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are a number of different causes of bleeding after menopause.

Though it is commonly due to benign (not dangerous) cause in most cases, it usually requires assessment at least by imaging such as ultrasound. Some persons may also require a biopsy as well.

It can be due to benign or dangerous changes in the lining of the uterus.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
