What Does Persistent Twitching On The Eye Indicate?
Hello, I am a sophomore in college and it is finals time. About 3 weeks ago, I started to have a twitch in my eye. It would last for a few minutes then go away, but then come back and this went on the the entirety of the time I was awake. That went on for about 2 weeks. That finally stopped but now I have a twitch in my forehead, right between my eyebrows. It is not visible from the outside but I can feel it on the inside. This has been happening for about a week. I have cut down on my caffeine intake almost completely and I do get stressed at times but nothing unbearable. I just don t know if this is happening because it s finals time or if its a more serious issue.
If it lasts for more than a week then it needs a medical diagnosis. Otherwise, for stress learn stress-relieving exercises, for eyes strain use artificial tears, maintain a proper sterile condition. Otherwise, it can lead to infection.
Say no to caffeine, drugs and alcohol. Take fruits, juices, aloe vera, amla and boiled vegetables. Avoid insufficient sleep, get at least 7 hours of rest a day. If it still persists then you need an MRI of the brain and other EMG tests.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
