What Does Pain In Upper Chest And Lower Throat Area Indicate?
Hi. I have developed since yesterday tightness in upper chest in center and lower throat/esophagus area. It hurts to breath in, but not out. I am not sick. This is not a cold or virus. No heart issues. This same thing happened over two years ago. I went to urgent care and they did an ekg and x rays. Everything was fine. I don t think they know what it was. They decided to prescribe methylprednisolone 4mg tablet pack (take decreasing number of tablets each day). It worked very quickly and it went away. What do you think it is? Stress? Allergic reaction?
Hello, Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. You may be suffering from allergic tracheo bronchitis. There can be swelling of bigger air passage in your throat leading to breathing discomfort. It can happen due to exposure to some allergen or some seasonal changes. You can take anti histamine if its mild. If the breathing discomfort is more, you should take steroid like you have taken earlier. Bronco dilators like salbutamol or terbutaline will also be helpful which are available in inhaler form. Hope this will be helpful. Take care.
