What Does Pain In The Neck, Arms And Shoulders Indicate?

I was in hospital for 5 days with NG tube for SBO due to radical cystectomy last yr. Since I got home, have pain in my neck, radiates to shoulder and arm because of position my head was in for those days. Thought it was a muscle strain, but could it be a nerve? What can I do to get rid of it. It s been 11 days and Advil, etc aren t helping.Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to muscle strain. Some suggestion about the treatment are:
-take ant inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen
-use anti inflammatory creams for local relief
-use ice packs
-stretching exercises can help
