What Does Pain In The Lower Pelvic Area Indicate?

Hi I have been having some pain in my lower pelvic area and down into my left leg and I am wondering what could be the cause. I am generally very healthy and had a full female exam around 3 months ago or maybe 4. Some burning and irritation also but no big urge to urinate frequently. YYYY@YYYY

Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. From your symptoms it might be a urinary tract infection. Since you say there is some burning and irritation it might be the cause. Other causes could be sciatica which is when the sciatic nerves are pressed during its course from the pelvic cavity. In it the pain radiates to the back of thigh and leg and exacerbates on exertion. Better is to get a urine routine examination and consult a orthopedician if the report is normal. In case uti is detected you ll need a urine culture sensitivity and antibiotics accordingly. Thanks.
