What Does Pain In The Knees Indicate?

My son is complaining of a pain on the inside of his knee, under the knee cap on his right leg. He does not live in town anymore, so I can only go by what he is telling me. He said he felt it pop, when he was doing stretching exercises, and the pain is very strong now.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Kindly get your son MRI scan of knee done because he might be having ligament tear ACL or PCL tear and popping sensation is due to that. It can heal on its own or needs surgery that depends on how much is the tear. Please get the MRI reports.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
