What Does Pain In The Elbow Indicate?

Hi. I have pain in the vein inner elbow. The vein is red. It is growing in length. Vein feels hard. This has been painful for two days but I associated it with doing push-ups. I have RA. Should I go to Urgent Care now, wait to see my family doctor tomorrow, or treat at home with ice and ibuprophen and see how it looks tomorrow?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you have phlebitis and you should apply cold compresses, use Ibuprofen and visit your doctor. He will do further examinations to you and decide if you need antibiotics in case of infection and will give blood thinning medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
