Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may need a muscle relaxant to add to the pain medication. Pain in the back of the neck can sometimes be due to spasm of the muscles in this area.

The use of a painkiller along with a muscle relaxant would help with this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
