What Does Pain From The Fingers To The Wrist Indicate?

Hello, I have hand pain. It s the top of my hand, starting at a specific point where my hand and wrist meet. It mainly hurts from my middle finger to my pinky finger. The specific point at my wrist is tender, and there is swelling that comes and goes. I had an x-ray taken, there was nothing to see, not even arthritis. I did have De Quervains tenosyvitis (pretty sure I spelled that wrong), had 2 cortisone shots that seemed to have mostly taken care of it. The pain now is in the same hand. Depending on how I move my hand can make it more painful.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I have reviewed your query and is my advice
It seems to be wrist joint pain and it can be due to arthritis changes, the best way to treat the main or manage the pain is (NSAID) nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs, like diclofenac orally one tablet once in day, steroid can be tried under medical supervision but it has got the several limitations, in differential diagnosis infection needs to be ruled out, and it could be micobactarium causes the infection, you can discuss this with your doctor
Hop I have answered your query, let me know if I can assist you any further
I find this answer helpful
