What Does Pain Behind The Left Breast Indicate?

Hi, I’m a 29 year old female in generally good health. Today I had chest pain behind the left breast. It felt like occasional squeezing over the course of a couple of hours. The pain stopped about 2 hours ago but now I feel achey. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query.

This is probably muscular in origin. Try and remember if you did anything unusual like life anything heavy or stretch in a particular way.

*do you have any other discomfort while you had the pain? Like breathing difficulty, giddiness, sweating.
If yes, then you need to see a doctor right away. If it recurs again and is severe, see a doctor then too.

If not, then just apply anti-inflammatory ointment and hot compresses over the area.

Hormonal changes can also cause breast pain, usually around your period time. This will pass. A hot bath will help.
Hope this helps.. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Wish you good health
