Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a periodic pain (rather severe) in the back of my calf. It seems to come on more when I am walking than when sitting with my legs up or even just standing. I am worried that it might be a blood clot. It started yesterday. I have not done any strenuous exercise recently.

What Does Pain Behind The Calves Indicate?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. It seems to be a ligament or nerve related issue rather than a blood clot, as per the detailed narration. I recommend primary management with anti-inflammatory medicines, but later on for MRI evaluation as per the progress. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Purva Patel
