What Does Pain Around A Bar Inserted In The Arm Indicate?

Hi.. I have the bar located in my arm for almost a year now (post pregnancy) .. for the past few weeks I have been experiencing pain where the bar is and irregular bleeding.. I have had doses of bleeding weekly since the pain has started.. I have checked online and any reviews seam to be suggesting to leave it for a couple of weeks to see if the pain eases but none mention the I bleeding ... should I be worried??

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes at the implanon site you may experience pain, bruising, numbness, infection, tingling, minor bleeding and scarring at the site where the rod is placed. Bleeding also seen in few patients, it may be due to side effects or infection . Please consult your gynecologist she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
