What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?

I m a licensed counselor writing a report. I ve been told by a neuro psych in consultation that seizures cause brain damage. (I have 12 year old client that is not receiving meds for his seizures). So is that a true statement? or should I temper it by saying Seizures CAN cause brain damage. Normally I would use the more tentative language but if the first statement is true, I will write that in my records. Thank you, Donnalee Sarda, MC LPC

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Seizures don't cause brain damage. Unless the person has frequent and long episodes of it. The patient who is not taking medicines must be because he is not having regular seizure and was an isolated incident.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ankit
