Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor My mum chest ex-ray report is stated like this Normal cardiac size and contour. The aorta is not unfolded. No fracture ribs/evidence of heamothorax seen. However, there are cavitating, patchy opacities seen within upper zone of right, middle and lower zones of the left lungs. Costophrenic sulci are preserved. Impression : Pulmonary kock s disease Please can you be of help. Thanks Samuel
Chest x-ray impression showed as pulmonary koch's. If it is pulmonary koch's then the good news is it is completely curable with medication.
But before that, you need to do Sputum for AFB test to confirm the Koch's bacteria in the lungs, and is there any weight loss recently? like since last 1-2 months?
Please consult your primary physician for further workup. And remember Koch's is completely curable.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Harikrishna Yamjala, Emergency Medicine Specialist
