What Does My Angiogram Report Indicate?

I recently had an angiogram done due to mild abnormalities in my stress test. The angiogram showed that my LAD blockage was 50%. But the doctor went a step ahead and did an ultrasound and based on what he saw, he decided that the blockage was 80% and so he placed a stent. Is this normal ? don t doctors just rely on what the angiogram says. I know stents are big money makers for both the hospital and the doctor so I am suspicious if there really was a need for the stent. I have a copy of the angiogram disk which shows the 50% block, but have no evidence of the ultrasound.
