Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 59 year old male with epilepsy since 1980. My last MRI without IV contrast: on high resolution suggestion of mild asymmetric volume loss involving the right amygdala and anterior portion of the right hippocampus. With no FLAIR image through the hippocampi evaluation is limited. I am not sure how to interpret.
Can you mention your symptoms and why a scanning was ordered? The report says that, there is mild volume loss (contraction of brain tissue), more involving the right side. Any significance of this finding and any treatment needed depends on your symptoms. This may cause disturbance of memory/behaviour. Your doctor will discuss in detail.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
