What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?

Hi I just got a copy of an MRI done on my back at a local hospital.......the main focal points of the MRI indicate the following; a highT2 signal intensity annual tear at L3 - L4......at L5-S1 there is a posterior disc bulge with central disc protrusion abutting the bilateral S1 nerve roots.....at there is a posterior disc bulge and severe facet arthrosis .....this disc bulge is also bulging into the foramina.....please would you kindly explain to me what this all means and if it mean that it must be corrected with surgery?

HI
Well come to HCM
Here the clinical condition is very important because such MRI finding always need to be correlated with the clinical conditions, this could be disk degenerative disease of the disk, if the symptoms are very severe then it may need surgery, else you need to talk to neurologist, for conservative management, hope this helps, take care.
