hello was just seen in the er by a dr who seemed to busy to explain anything. I just had to drive back to get the disk of my ct scan. the notes state anatomic alignment of lumbar spine, broad based l5-s1 right sided disk protrusion is present. the sacroiliac joints are symmetric with bilateral vacuum disc phenomenon and increased sclerosis, indicating advanced degenerative change. he only told me i had a herniated disk while tying his shoe then told me discharge papers were coming and walked out. What does all this mean please? Thanks
hi I have gone through your report findings. Bilateral symmetric increased sclerosis with vaccum disc phenomenon indicate sacroiliatis.broad based lumbar disc right side protrusion at L5-S1 might be causing nerve compression and thus right lowerlimb symptoms.its important to know your age and your clinical presentation to come to one final diagnosis.need to know is it sacroiliatis or protruded disc causing your symptoms .how are the other discs. if you are young and bilateral sacroiliatis its important to exclude disease called, ankylosing spondylitis. thank you regards vasundhara
