What Does Mild To Moderate Cerebellum Volume Loss Mean When The 19-year-old Is Experiencing Short Term Memory Loss, Exhaustion And Confusion?

I took my 19 year old daughter to Emory Hospital Urgent Care, because she was sick for 4 weeks and was not getting any better. She was extreme exhaustion, could not stay awake, confusion, short term memory loss. First Urgent Care visit they ENT infection sent us home with antibiotics. 2nd trip to Urgent Care they diagnosed her with walking pneumonia even though the chest X-rays was clear. Still not better next trip to Urgent Care I was freaked out over still her exhaustion and memory loss. The Urgent Care doctor order a CT scan just to humor me and sent us home saying she most likely had mononucleosis and the CT was fine. I just got a copy of CT online and it say my daughter has Mild to moderate cerebellum volume loss. Clinical correlation is recommended. What does this mean? My daughter is still extremely tired, has no energy, memory loss, what do you recommend I need to do?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I don't agree with your online report, although i have not seen the CT images. CT has poor sensitivity for evaluation for cerebellum (you need MRI for it). Also the symptoms that your daughter has also don't correlate with the volume loss of cerebellum.
