What Does It Mean To Have Low RBC And Sleep Apnea Together?

I m a 66 year old male with AFIB (using flecinide, metroprolol, pradaxa), sleep apnea (using a CPAP), and low HMG / RBC (using B12 injections). All of these were diagnosed three years ago after a fainting spell. For the most part I m in rhythm during the day, but in mid-night I wake to find I m out of rhythm (skips every 2 to 5 beats) & rate that seems to be in the mid, maybe low 40s. Per my cardiologist s recommendation I ve been taking an extra dose of flecinide 100 MG in the middle of the night. In a month I m due for my annual echo and follow-up consultation. Are my combination of symptoms common? Could they be related?

Hello,

Usually, sleep apnea is associated with a high number of red cells as a compensation mechanism. You should discuss with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
