What Does Inflammation In The Big Toe Indicate?

I had a surgical infection in December 6 wks on cephlaflexin daily infusions through PIC line 30 days on oral Cipro 500 mg BiD my big toe just became inflamed yesterday and broke open puss and blood today. Could this be related to surgical infection?

Hello,

It gets difficult for us to point out where could be the infection spread from, maybe nosocomial also. Without a brief history, we can’t find, how your infection is spread, but you have to get treated with antibiotics again since you have pus.

Kindly get a culture of pus did and sensitivity which gives antibiotic which cures your infection and dosage should be adjusted to your body weight.
