Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have limey green grass colored stool. I have ate or drank nothing that would cause this. Drinking only water, have eaten a couple oranges, couple apples. Chicken breast with some cottage cheese and some spaghetti in the last couple days. I have had a few obstructions in the past but have never related those to this color stool. Thoughts?
Green stool can be related to diet or the frequency of bowel movements. If you are having bowel movements more frequently then this would cause the color to appear green.
As bile in the stool passes through the intestines, it undergoes changes that result in a change from green to brown. If a person passes stool frequently then the bile does not have the time to undergo these changes.
You can consider monitoring for now.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
