What Does Frequent Nausea, Gagging Sensation With Vomiting Mean?

I have a co-worker who states she is nauseaed every morning (definitely not pregnant). She feels a gaging sensation and feels if she can only throw up, she would feel better. When she does manage to throw up, she feels a little better. She has felt this way for about 3 months now and feels this way for a couple-3 hours every morning.
