General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the epiretinal membrane in eye is related to development of thin layer at the area of macula of the retina. It is causing difficulties in sharp central vision of the eye and the peripheral vision is not affected. If asymptomatic, small defect and very early stage, no treatment required and regular annual evaluation is recommended.

* If symptomatic, severe, therapy of laser removal or surgery is recommended. The macula hole is not consistent with the condition of epiretinal membrane.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
