What Does Cloudiness On A Brain Scan Indicate?

My sister recently recovered from brain surgery to remove a tumor (she has Stage 4 Breast Cancer and has survived 2 years already with it in her bones and liver). She has recovered from the surgery and goes every 6 weeks for a brain scan. They did a scan yesterday and it was cloudy so they thought she somehow might have moved so they did it again and it was still showing some cloudiness. My niece, how is pregnant and expecting shortly, was with my sister. My sister felt they didn t say anything because they didn t want to stress out my niece. What does cloudiness on a brain scan indicate?

Hello,

Cloudiness can be generalised age related change and nothing significant. You can attach the photo of the report in the followup query so that a better clinical impression can be made.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
