What Does Chest Pain Along With Severe Fatigue Indicate?

last week i had mild chest pain. specific heart area and out my armpit. have exhaustion. but the thing that worried me was extreme stickiness in my mouth and upper throat - could not quench it. it was after small amount of busy movement . I went to an instacare clinic and they suggested i go to the ER. Like i said it was very mild and i CHOSE to see if it subsided and if my symptoms got more intense i would go. a few days ago, i had a mild sting/discomfort on the left side of of my throat just lateral to the ribbing of my esophagus. i waited and it went away. today i have the same sting/discomfort on the right side of my throat - again just lateral to the ribbing of my esophagus just superior to my right clavicular notch. I self diagnosed myself from the internet. and my symptoms (which could indicate drastic things like congestive heart failure) i diagnosed as pericarditis - because i am still trying to fight off some infections like sinus, uti, etc. the stinging has lasted 6 hours. So my question is...is it unwise to continue to wait to get those expensve tests at the ER.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The symptoms you have described indicate towards an underlying cardiac problem. It sounds like angina pain and requires further investigation. It is not wise to postpone going to an ER as your condition may deteriorate and lead to cardiac emergency.
I would advise you to go to an ER as soon as possible and get an EKG done. Further management will depend on the results of the EKG.

I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.

Dr. Nazma.amman
