What Does Bumps And Pain After Injury On Knuckles Indicate?

Dear Doctor,
I was walking along a quite country road in Santa Fe, New Mexico and I stepped in from traffic as there wasn’t a sidewalk in that area. As I stepped into the side of the road, I jabbed my knuckle into an extremely large Thistle Bush with yellow flowers. I pulled out the Thistle needle from my knuckle and it became deep red and became unbelievably tender. Later that night the knuckle went jet black and very sensitive to the slightest touch. Over the next few days my knuckle has broken out in tiny red bumps and has been incredible painful and I cannot ben my finger all the way down to my hand. I have been continuously icing it down but it just seems to remain exceptionally painful.
Please Help…I know that the particular Thistle Bush in question is not poisonous…is there a possibility that I broke a small bone in my knuckle?
Thank You,
Nicole
