What Does Brown Discharge And Bright Red Blood During Pregnancy Indicate?

I am 39 weeks 2 days pregnant with my 3rd child. Got my membrane sweeped yesterday afternoon around 3:45pm. Had a few contractions yesterday, small amounts of brown discharge. Today, when to the restroom and my whole panty-liner was filled with dark brown discharge and when i wiped there was clear and bright red mucus. This was my second sweep since my 38 week check last week but didnt have this much discharge and bright red blood. Show i worried? Or does that mean somethings actually happening? should I call L&D?

Hi welcome to healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your question.
You should go for ultrasound scan to rule out placenta praevia or abrptio placenta, as these are common cause of antenatal hemorrhages.
Then consult a gynecologist with this scan and if needed get admit in the hospital as you are on. Full term.
Hope i answered your question.
Would be happy to help you further.
Take care.
