What Does Blood In Stool Indicate?

Doctor called last night and said they found blood in my stool test. Blood test taken at the same time showed normal, had procedure of banding the hemmoriids last week. Some black stool recently. Colonoscopy 7 years ago, no polyps. All other blood tests over past 2 months showed normal. 84 years old, very anxious please reassure email YYYYY @YYYYY,com

Hello,

You have normal stool report; hence, infective etiology seems less likely here.

You had mentioned history of piles and operation for that. So, blood in stool can be because of that. After healing of that, blood in stool will disappear.

Also, consult the gastroenterologist for examination if needed.
