What Does An Unruptured Follicle On A Follicular Scan Report Indicate?

I took siphene from day 2 - day 6..I went for follicular scan on day 11 and there was one follicle (2.3 X 1.8 cm) in my right ovary, 14th day scan showed the same size and I got injected HUCOG 10000 that day around 11:30 am. Today was my 16th day and I went for scan around 10:45 am and the follicle size was 2.9 X 1.7 My gynac told me that there r rare chances for the follicle to get ruptured in this cycle. So she suggested to go for same medicines (glycomet, duphaston, follic acid nd siphene) and go for follicular scan again on 11th day of next cycle. My question is why the follicle did not rupture? Whether the follicle contains the egg or not? Are there any chances of getting it ruptured in this cycle?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Absence of follicular rupture indicates that the dose of medicines given was inadequate to stimulate follicular growth.

You seem to have a hormonal problem, the chain of these hormones cause growth, maturation & rupture of follicles.

Your doctor is trying to supplement deficient hormones. This is to be done step by step to suit your health. Please follows the instructions given regularly.

She may suggest hormonal assessment to know exact cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
