What Does A Swollen Lymph Node In The Clavicle Indicate?

Hi, we have recently discovered my son as a swollen lymph node in the clavicle region, he also has 2 lymph nodes on his neck which doctor seems to not be concerned with. She is concerned with the node in the clavicle area, it s approx. 3 cm. The blood test results all appear to be normal. What are some other things we should be concerned with?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have to visit the nearest medical center for complete evaluation. In many cases swollen lymph nodes are the result of viral or bacterial infection which can be determined by clinical evaluation and laboratory tests. In many cases no treatment is required or treatment is directed to relieve symptoms in case of viral infection.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Take care.
