What Does A Small Developmental Venous Anomaly In The Left Temporal Lobe Mean?
I recently had an MRI and MRA. The neurologist said it was normal. When I received a copy of the report it also says: Findings suggesting a small developmental venous anomaly in the posterolateral aspect of the left temporal lobe. What does this mean?

Generally, developmental venous anomalies (DVAs) do not require treatment. These veins do a necessary job of getting blood in and out of the brain, so they do not need to be surgically removed or closed. Because they are normal and not dangerous, long-term imaging is generally not necessary. So don't be panic and take care.
