What Does A Skin Growth On The Small Finger Indicate?

I have a small growth on the outside of my left pinky. I went to a local Ortho where an x ray was taken. There was a complete black spot where the growth is. The doctor diagnosed me with a tumor (he didn t say what kind, but it is hard and not fluid filled or superficial) but said the pain was caused by arthritis (I m 38 and have no other arthritis, just where I happen to have a growth?) He brushed the tumor aside and told me to come back in month. I feel very uncomfortable with this man and will not be returning. For the last 5 days my lower knee and calf have been numb and have a dull ache. My foot is not affected and I can walk just fine. Please advise.

Hi,

Your calf muscle pain may be because of muscle spasm or dificiency of calcium or raised levels of potacium too. You need to get an electrolyte balance test done to rule out any of such things.

As you seems to have osteoarthritis too, you need to visit a orthopedic surgeon to get it evalvated as soon as possible. The tumor must have been the benign one because otherwise he would not have brushed it off without the further lab tests.

So you don't need to worry much about that. Yes, one thing you should have done is that you could have get the tissue histopathological examination done to rule out any dangerous lesion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
