What Does A Red Spot At The Corner Of The Eyes Indicate?

I have a red spot near the corner of my eye above my cheek that now appears to be scaling like a sunburn. It appeared two days ago and now has the scaling. It looks like a thin bump and is causing me anxiety. I have also had a redness on the thin edge of the bottom lid of the opposite eye that has not gone away since September of last year. Thank you. This site is a SCAM. I guess I ll call ask-a-nurse. At least they are not predatory like this money for advice site.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

"As" per your clinical history is concerned please do a clinical examination by your Doctor to rule out [Blepharitis] and if confirmed then discuss antibiotics [Chloramphenicol] and steroid cream.

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this -
1) Apply a warm compress over your closed eye for several minutes to loosen the crusty deposits on your eyelids. Immediately afterwards, use a washcloth moistened with warm water and a few drops of diluted baby shampoo to wash away any oily debris or scales at the base of your eyelashes. Use a different clean cloth for each eye.
2) Rinse your eyelids with warm water and gently pat it dry with a clean, dry towel.
3) Use OTC artificial tear to prevent dry eyes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo,
