What Does A Rash On The Arm Indicate?

Hello--I have a single hickey like mark on my arm in the bicep area. There is no swelling, itching, tenderness, break in the skin, etc. It is fading as a hickey would. In theory i can reach this area with my mouth, but its is rather uncomfortable. At such an angle and distance, it would be difficult to bite or suck to produce such a mark. I am recently widowed and live with a cat. I visit my son and his cat on weekends and that is the sum of my social life. I have been around both animals for some time. Thoughts?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Perhaps it is a bruise - an ecchymosis from an unnoticed trauma. Though it should resolve by itself in about 2 - 3week time, however, I suggest you to take an oral Vitamin C supplement once a day for a few days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
