Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, i have had a mass in my abdomen under my navel area. It is small and hard to touch. I had my fine needle biopsy couple of months ago and the result was lipoma. I have read on the net that lipoma are soft but my is really hard. Could it be something and FNB are wrong? Thanks
No, usually FNB is accurate, there, they will see the cells and then diagnose. But if there is the error during the procedure then it could have some errors.
If you are really concerned you can get it done again from the different site than before. As you say it is hard, usually lipoma is soft to the firm consistency and never hard. If it is fibrosed, then it could be hard.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
