Hello I am 54 yrs old and never really had any problems with acne but recently i have found a very hard ball just underneath my skin on my cheek . well I have messed and poked and prodded and then squeezed til ,,, well lets just say it isnt anything pretty. Nothing ever was found , so I dont know what this is or how to treat it but when I squeezed it it almost had a blistery look to it and then what is the best ointment to treat my obstroucity Ive created from picking prodding and poking at it ??? I
It is possible that you may have a small abscess which is a localized collection of pus.
Treatment would involve: (1) cleaning the area with an antiseptic at least twice daily , (2) warm compress with magnesium sulphate paste also at least twice daily and (3)the use of a topical antibiotic (4)an anti inflammatory pain killer would help reduce any swelling or discomfort that may be present eg naproxen, cataflam, voltaren
If there is no improvement then you may need a course of oral antibiotics from your doctor.
