Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Daughter is 11yrs and has a small black dot on her tear duct, which won’t wipe away, it causes no pain or irritation and the surrounding area looks normal with no redness. She noticed it a couple of weeks ago.. any idea what this might be and who I go to see for a consult. The dot is approx 1mm..we are currently on our way to the airport for a two week trip and just wanted to Check whether it was okay to wait until we return to have checked.. Many thanks in advance Kind Regards Tory
This has hardly any significance if it has been there for some time.
As it looks like a nevus, this has to be observed. Possibility one that has been there for sometime and you did not notice it. If it has been of recent origin then it has to be kept under observation for any change of color, size and shape, which is best documented and date to be put up.
If there is a change, then you have consult the physician.
If it remains static, then you keep a watch and no need to worry.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
