What Does A CT Scan Report Showing Minor Ground Glass Opacity Consistent With Septal Thickening At The Lung Bases Indicate?
I had a CT scan for Kidney stone diagnosis. The report says the lung bases demonstrate a minor groundglass opacity consistent with septal thickening, subsegmental portion of the medial right lower lobe. Several doctors read this report and were NOT concerned. What are your thoughts?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello,
Majority of doctors are not concerned because of the fact that changes are minor. And these do not need something special besides smoking cessation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
