What Does Large Left Pelvic Mass With A Relatively Thin Rim Mean?

Hi, Im so sad and worried. What does this mean?. Large left pelvic mass with a relatively thin rim of surrounding solid tissue. No evidence of pelvic ascites. Midly prominent right ovary towards the upper limits of normal in size with multiple small cystic structures compatible with follicles. Uterus measures 9.2 × 3.2 × 5.2, right ovary 3.9 × 2.3 × 2.7. Left ovary is unseen. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to health care magic.

1. The report suggest there is a mass lesion in the left pelvic region - and left ovary is not seen separately.
2.The possible causes in this case is - an ovarian lesion, with benign features ( as the description says there is rim maintained surrounding the lesion.
3.There is no ascites around the lesion that says there is no inflammatory / infective features surrounding the lesion.
4.Uterus does appears mild bulky with no obvious pathologies mentioned, right ovary is borderline normal in the measurements.
5.IN this case the next step should be FNAC / BIOPSY ( fine needle aspiration cytology) The evaluate the nature of the cells involved.
6.An MRI will help to evaluate the extension to the pelvic wall and adjacent structures. Operative excision will be definitive treatment after evaluating the mass properly.

Good luck.
