What Does EKG Showing Atrial Enlargement Mean?

Hi. I had a preoperative EKG today and it read left atrial enlargement. I am 56 yr old African American female and I have no history of cardiac issues. I was diagnosed with a heart murmur in my early 20 s and have not had any problems with it. I am very active, 5 3, 125 pounds. What is going on?

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
