What Does CT Scan Done After Car Accident Suggest?

My dad was recently in car accident and got a CT Scan done and was told they want to run an MRI because they found fluid and that his third ventricle and lateral ventricle were prominent with dilation what does that mean exactly? They weren t much help

Thanks for writing to HCM

Fluid in brain may be due to SDH(subdural hemorrhage)or EDH(extradural hemorrhage).These are trauma related.It is important to know size of hemorrhage and clinical condition.Blood becomes fluid in appearance after some time due to degradation of blood.
Prominent third and lateral ventricle may be due to age related atrophic changes.
You should consult neurologist.
