Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Tingling Sensation And Numbness In The Left Arm Indicate?
I am having some tingling in my left arm and numbness Also some weakness in the left arm.. it is also in my Pinkie and ring finger. It was in my left face and jaw for a couple of minutes. It is all gone at this time. It happened this morning for about 5 minutes. No trouble talking or moving my arm and no pain. I was moving furniture yesterday and don t know if this is from that. I am a 66 yr. old woman. No trouble breathing.
Regarding numbness and tingling sensation, during age process some nerve ending (nerves supplying foot) will be damaged (degenerative changes) which is very common.
So, the areas of body supplied by those nerve endings will have numbness and tingling in a painful way. These symptoms will get better with time.
No need to worry as this is a quite common problem in elderly patients. But the important thing is you have to check your diabetic status by following tests: 1.) Fasting blood sugar 2.) Post prandial blood sugar 3.) HbA1c
If you feel more discomfort, you can use pain killer and vitamin tablets.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vamsi Krishna Chittimoju
