What Do These Trans Abdominal And Trans Vaginal Ultrasound Scan Findings Indicate?

I am a 43 year old female with history of ovarian cyst, uncertain of LMP. Status post left oophorectomy. Findings: Transabdominal and transvaginal imaging was performed. The uterus is anteverted and measures 7.3x3.5x4.6 cm. The uterine echotexture is diffusely heterogeneous suggestive of myomatous changes. However, no discrete mass is identified. The endometrium is poorly visualized due to the diffuse heterogeneity of the uterine parenchyma and cannot be adequately assessed. Can you please tell me what all of this means?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The uterus shows possibility of fibroid uterus..with some changes in inner lining of the uterus. These changes need to be managed depending on your symptoms and health. Please consult a gynecologist for more extensive examination followed by more personal and specific treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
