What Do Swelling In The Lips And Rashes In The Armpits Indicate?

My husband, age 61, has had 4 or 5 incidents recently with sudden swollen lip, and itching welts under armpits, and lower abdomen. He has been diagnosed last year with pre-diabetes, and had lyme disease 3 years ago, which seemed to be cured with medication. Not sure if the last 2 diagnoses would help with figuring out symptoms. Thanks

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The pre-diabetes or lymes should not affect or cause the symptoms that he is experiencing. These symptoms are in keeping with urticaria which can have different causes. In some persons, it may be due to allergies but there are a number of other different causes. Some persons may have urticaria with cold or exercise or stress or heat, even contact with water.
It would be best for him to be seen by his doctor.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
