What Do Scabs In The Nose During Pregnancy Indicate?

Are dried scabs/dried blood covered nasal mucus in my nose normal during pregnancy? I am 22 weeks pregnant and have recently started to experience what feel like scabs in my nose, upon removal they appear to be blood covered boogers. I have been using salt water and cotton wool to aid this, other than this, Vaseline and facial steaming, is there anything else I can do or use and is this something I should seek medical attention for?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may want to consider letting the areas heal and the scab comes off on its own. If the scab is removed before the underlying skin is healed, then it would reform. If it does come off on its own and then recurs, it would be best to see someone for assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
