What Do Redness And Swelling In The Eyelids Indicate?

I became allergic to the medication I was taking for blepheridis (sp?). Dr told me to use over the counter cortisone as the medication was 400.00. I used it for 4 days and there was slight improvement. Yesterday I was cleaning my lanai for 4 hours using ammonia and water. I woke up this morning with redness above and below the eyelid and both eyelids are swollen. This reaction mimics the allergic reaction to the medication I was on for 3 months for the blepheridis??? I am concerned please advise!

Hi,

Definitely allergy. Please continue the cortisone and avoid all allergens . Also you can apply ice . If is still worse we can put you on a course of oral antihistamines for a week.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
