Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I developed a rash on my wrists and ankles and the back of my head at the hair line suddenly about 2 days ago. I have taken benedryl at night for the past 2 nights but it seems to be spreading. I haven t used any different detergents or soaps and I have pets but we keep up with their flea and tick and grooming treatments. Should I just go to the doctor? I just finished my third round of antibiotics for first an upper respiratory infection then sinus infection then middle ear infection. Could that have something to do with it?
Too much use of antibiotics sometimes may lead to the opportunistic infection. Mostly these infections are fungal and may affect more in humid and hot conditions. There can be others reasons like high sugar level which makes prone to skin infections or rarely sometimes the drugs induced flare, like pain kilor antibiotics.
Yes you need to visit an dermatologist and get you skin lesions clinically examined or upload some pictures to our domain with further history to get proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
