What Do Pain In The Testicles And Sore Throat Indicate?

Hi, I m a 25 year old male with concerns over my diagnosis of prostatitus. In May I had a potentially risky sexual encounter that involved both giving and receiving oral sex. A few days after I experienced testicular pain accompanied by flu-like symptoms of fever, body-aches and night sweats with an extremely sore throat. Went to a minor emergency center which prescribed me azithromycin as well as a steroid pack. However after taking the medication I still had symptoms of a general discomfort in my genital area and an itchy anus/perinium. After still feeling these symptoms I got tested for stds doing a 10 panel confidential online test (not sure how reliable those are) but everything came back negative. After still having lower abdominal pain and itching of the anus with testicular discomfort I visited the family doctor who also administered hiv/std testing which also came back negative. My doctor then referred me to a urologist who examined my prostate and excreted urine from massaging the prostate which is currently being cultured. In the meantime, the urologist prescribed me Bactrim DS to take for a 4 week cycle. After a week of taking bactrim I missed a dose and broke out in hives (first allergic reaction in my life and am not sure if it s related to taking the antibiotics). However I m still feeling a general discomfort in my lower abdomin and testicles and the itching in my anus has worsened. So my questions are, should I continue this cycle of antibiotics if I m possibly allergic, or take another antibiotic such as cipro instead? Also do I have any reason to doubt the results of the std testing given the timeframe was about three-four weeks after the possible exposure? Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There is usually a window period between the infection and the results being positive. It may be up to 6 months. so get the repeat test done at 6 months time.
Related to the itching and the symptoms related to private part you need to meet the dermatologist who will do the necessary smear testing and evaluate the skin lesions and opine regarding further management viral infection is common. Be careful and protection is must.

Hope I have answered your query.
